Course Description
All tutors are DBS certified and trusted to work with young people. Read our Safeguarding Policy in the main menu. This daytime online programme is for home-educated learners aged 11–16, with a focus on beginners in music production, composition, and sound design. Other age ranges will follow soon. An accredited pathway is also available through RSL Music Production Grades, with UCAS points at higher levels. Learners gain hands-on experience in a supportive group. Whether aiming to be a producer, singer, rapper, DJ, songwriter, beatmaker or instrumentalist, this pathway is about unlocking potential through music and technology. Music technology uses digital tools to create, record, and produce music. It underpins today’s music industry and is also used in film, games, advertising, and media. From beat-making and arrangement to sound design, mixing, and editing, it brings ideas to life and is accessible to anyone with a computer and curiosity. The programme is led by Andrew Ferguson, music producer, DJ, educator, and founder of Education & Bass, with 30+ years in the industry and 15+ years teaching in schools, colleges, adult learning, and alternative provision. The team supports learners of all needs, blending education with real-world creative practice.
